I think your estimates are about right
Eagle has landed
I caught the precious metals 'bug' in a big way about 4 years ago, with a special interest in silver. I began accumulating silver then, starting with one or two Proof Silver Eagle coins every couple weeks, and progressing to larger quantities, as well as occasional purchases of gold.
I had never owned a silver or gold coin prior to that, though I had always (I realized later) been attracted to silver.
I have shared my passion for precious metals and for silver in particular with my friends and acquaintances, and often give silver coins as gifts. I always have a real silver coin in my pocket to hold and to show to anyone who is interested. I even work in a financial company where investment in precious metals is possible and increasing in popularity. But nobody I know has bought any yet --- and this has been 3 1/2 years!
I encouraged everyone to buy a little silver when we languished for months in the mid-teens in price. During the recent months, as silver enjoyed a great rally, two or three acquaintances asked me about starting to buy some, and I encouraged them -- especially when there were pullbacks in prices.
It's a crazy thing about human psychology that they were more inclined to buy when silver approached $50, then they were when it had corrected to $35 --- they were not even swayed by my reports that I had ordered quite a bit of silver at $35 (and that I had never paid such a high price before yet was not at all concerned)!
